Policy 8.2 Accessibility and inclusive practice How we look after people

Inclusive events and service design

The accessibility requirements for Just Gold events and the principles for designing inclusive services.

Easy Read

This policy is about events and services everyone can use.

Our venues need step free access and accessible toilets.

We offer Auslan or live captions where they are needed.

We offer quiet spaces and visual schedules.

We use pronoun stickers and inclusive registration forms.

We design services with people who have lived experience.

We build in access from the start, not later.

We remove forms and jargon that get in the way.

In plain language

Just Gold events must be usable by everyone, in person, online or both. That means step free access, accessible toilets, Auslan or live captions where relevant, and quiet spaces. Services are designed with people who have lived experience of disability or marginalisation. Universal design is built in from the start, not added later. We remove forms and jargon that get in people's way.
